Extra credit opportunity: Who is Walter Scott, the name on the sinking steamboat? Write one paragraph about his biography and why he is famous. Try to figure out why Mark Twain would name a sinking boat after him. List your source (not Wikipedia). Turn this in tomorrow. Tonight, read pages 57-79.

We discuss plagiarism, then irony. We read to Act V, Scene 1, Line 107 in "A Midsummer Night's Dream." We were in the midst of discussing Theseus' reasons for rejecting the other performers. Tomorrow, we'll discuss why he picked "Pyramus and Thisbe" even though Philostrate warned him that the Mechanicals are poor actors.
